Choosing how we live and who is invited in
2023 is the Year of the Water Rabbit in the Chinese Astrology charts. If you are the sort of person who is guided by Chinese Astrology, then this is your advice. “The Year of the Water Rabbit is going to be a gentler year. We’ll have time to take a breather”. For some of us, this is meaningful and we will take note of what this means and advice given for the year ahead. Some of us prefer to follow the zodiac signs, even if only as a fun thing to read when we flick through the weekend papers. A lot of us couldn’t care less and prefer to allow the year to unfold, managing it along the way.
There is no one best way to live our lives, nor is there one best source of inspiration, advice or support. We make choices about what we read, who we listen to, and who we share our thoughts with based on our own life philosophy. This philosophy might be intentional, well thought through and reviewed regularly or it may be loose, flaky and with little commitment.
How do we want it to be? How do we want to live? Our sense of fulfilment, achievement and balance comes from an alignment between what we personally know to be valuable to us, and then what/who we invite into our lives.
Our relationships with others are part of this. We are more likely to feel nurtured, supported and content when those we invite into our lives align with whom we are and allow us to be ourselves. Being intentional then about how we spend time with our loved ones helps to maintain and deepen the connection we want rather than relying on chance and the passage of time to deliver this.
By all means read the ‘Romance’ part of your horoscope and dream, but if you want relationships that feel honest and affirming be discerning about who you invite in and how you spend your time with them.
